1. In vitro medical rubber products

①The common characteristics of rubber products for in-vitro medical use are smaller shape, higher quality requirements, and numerous categories, which are mainly divided into two categories:

First, for medical and nursing use of rubber parts, such as a variety of in vitro catheters and air cushions, hot water bags, etc.; the second is for the pharmaceutical industry sealing and packaging accessories, such as infusion plugs, blood transfusion plugs, aerosol sealing gaskets and so on.

Medical rubber products will be in contact with a variety of pharmaceuticals, human tissue and biological organisms, and often in high temperature, high pressure conditions or in a variety of organic disinfectants for disinfection; some also need to be stored at low temperatures for long periods of time, the physical and mechanical properties of the rubber material and the stability of the chemical properties of the stringent requirements. 

2. Medical rubber products in the body

① The main material of medical rubber products in vivo generally includes silicone rubber material, polyurethane material and purified natural rubber, with the common characteristics of good biocompatibility, good air permeability or selective air permeability, weather aging resistance and excellent disinfection resistance.

Biocompatibility describes the interaction between biomedical materials and living organisms, which is an essential condition for medical materials, including blood compatibility, tissue compatibility and biodegradation and absorption; biofunctionality refers to biomaterials with the physical and chemical properties required for the exercise of their functions in their implanted position, including the ability to detect and diagnose diseases; assist in the treatment of diseases; meet the organ requirements to maintain or extend Life function performance requirements; can change the drug absorption pathway, control the drug release rate, site, to meet the requirements of the disease treatment functions, etc.; non-toxicity, i.e., chemical inertia, means that the material itself is harmless, and does not produce harmful substances.
